We / owners assess the behavior directly. Observe the dog / puppy in different settings and note where the behavior does and does not occur.

We / owners document specific actions prior to the onset of the behavior, during the behavior and as a consequence of the behavior.

We / owners will consider all observations when devising the suitable intervention program.

We / owners decide if the dog / puppy display similar or different behavior in various settings and if the same stimuli result in similar behavior.

We / owners determine what the dog / puppy avoids or gets as a result of the behavior

We / owners create an intervention plan addressing the specific negative behavior

We / owners make changes in the modification level as needed.

We / owners address the behavior by making the changes first in the home with no distraction.
Then try moving the dog / puppy's behavior training from a quieter area to a noisier one.

We / owners keep written records of the dog / puppy's behavior or graph the occurrence or
non-occurrence of the behavior to keep track of the effectiveness of the intervention.
